Veronica, is who I am. A vessel is who I was created to be. Broken is where I have been and contentment is what I found.
I was raised in Grenada, Mississippi by my mother and my father. My parents were blessed with three girls. I am the youngest daughter. I became stubborn at an early age. All the spankings would not change my life for the better. Something clicked at the beginning of my 11th grade year. I had one more year before graduation. I began to see the potential within myself, that my mother spoke about. Now, my feelings of embarrassment began to set in. I was two years behind my elementary friends. I was determined to graduate.
My parents did the best they could to raise me, in spite of my stubbornness. In my eyes, my mother was a loving, crazy lady who trusted and believed in a God we could not see. My father was the provider who left the spanking to my mother. Both of my parents are deceased. My mother passed away in 1996 and my father passed away in 2002. My father was six years older than my mother. He passed away six years after her. My parents taught me about life. I have learned to expect what I cannot see and love those who are put before me.
Can lead to a place with overflowing fruit or a place of barren land. Every destination may not seem pleasurable during the travel. On this journey, sometimes bags have to be left behind to complete the mission. One mission, I never would have imagine was sleeping in my car with three children. Every situation is not about you. Get out the way and let God lead you on this journey called life.
Go ahead….live your life! It takes one person to reach out their hand to be touched by love. It takes an open heart to receive all that love has to offer. This journey has allowed me to be cleansed from the inside out. I have had an opportunity to explore me: Mississippi raised, Tennessee grown, and Georgia found on this journey called life.
